Products of the South
Thu, June 10, 2010 at 14:25 I have found recently, that I have been enjoying many of the products of the South enough that I felt compelled to write about them here. For example, I've written about Southern Proper, and Luzianne Tea. Thus, I decided I should make a intermittently reoccurring series out of the plugs, and I'm Calling it Products of the South. Keep your eyes open, and I'm sure you'll see some more of this great stuff popping up soon.

OK, I didn't see the Luzianne post when it was new, but I feel that it has to be commented on now. 1) You actually drink, as recommended and on a regular, non-emergency basis, pre-packaged tea? That's like instant grits or roux in a jar. 2) Luzianne tea, even the "real" kind, actually isn't very good, regardless of how southern it might be. No disputing tastes, I suppose, but if all you know is the funny Luzianne after-taste you might want to expand your horizons. Lipton makes a superior product and even better can be had with looking (e.g., if you can get Red Rose in New Orleans).
I've always found lipton to taste like HFCS with metal in it, and no other taste.
Well, fair enough: gustibus non disputandem is true for tea brands, I suppose.
I find that Red Diamond Iced Tea is the best pre-packaged tea. It's also made in the south. (Alabama to be exact). I find the Luzianne and Red Rose can leave an acidy flavor after taste.
