Products of The South: Southern Proper
Tue, June 1, 2010 at 13:18 As I was searching for a bowtie to wear with my seersucker suit to a wedding, Southern Proper (an appropriately named purveyor of Southern clothing) caught my eye with their signature product – “beau” ties. Apparently two young southern ladies (Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Hardy Howell) co-founded the company in late 2005 to make clothing that is inspired by the southern men they grew up with (something tells me that is translated as “Daddy”). Reagan was born and raised on the porches of the Carolina coast, while Emmie grew up on a cotton farm in the Tennessee Delta. And to steal a line directly from them “The two combined their appreciation for heritage and fashion to create the men’s accessory line that is unique to the South.”
I found that I really liked the styles that the two young ladies (and their handsome bird dog) portrayed which lead me to chatting them on twitter (@southern_proper). After a discussion about various breeds of sporting dogs, Reagan (she’s the one who must run the twitter account) told me about some new products they are introducing. Being as I’m itching to get my hands on some of these, I thought I would share with y’all these tempting new products

Southern Proper is wonderful! Glad you found them.
Wear them all the time. Mostly Beau Ties but I do have one or two long ties from them. However I rarely wear anything anymore but a Beau Tie. The hold their sahpe really well and always tie beautifully. Best and most reasonably priced bow tie out there.
Southern Proper is wonderful! I love their Belle Bands!
