More on Jazz Fest Food
Tue, April 27, 2010 at 13:49 I made a grave error last week in my previous post. I assumed it was Cafe Reconcile that provided the strawberry lemonade in previous years. It was not. Previously, Scale's provided the frozen lemonade. Alas, I regret to inform all of you that the lemonade provided by Cafe Reconcile is not nearly as good as that which Scale's provided in previous years. If anyone happens to know the recipe for the Scales Lemonade, I would be your eternal servant if you would kindly share.
On a similar note, I would like to pay a quick tribute to another lost vendor. Canseco's, as I said in the prior article, makes a wonderful Cuban Sandwich; nevertheless, the best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had was made by the previous vendor at Jazz Fest, Pedro's. If anyone knows where I can get one of those Cuban sandwiches, please please please let me know.

Hey,
I love a good Cuban sandwich. Uptown on Freret St near Napoleon is a little latin cafe called Saritas. They actually have an excellent Cuban sandwich.
I like your blog and I def. noticed the difference in the strawberry lemonade too. If you get that recipe please pass it on.
Don't fret, all recipes that I use that are worth a damn get featured here on seersuckerandsazeracs.com
I'll have to try Saritas. I pass it almost everyday - its just a couple of blocks from my house (We just bought and renovated a house right by St. Charles and Napoleon).
I also hear Parkway Bakery's special on Wednesday is a Cuban that rivals all others. I hope to try it today.
I will find that recipe. I could use an eternal servant.
